Does Swagbucks Really Work?

I’m sure most people have heard of online sites like Swagbucks that offer real cash for completing tasks such as watching videos, playing games and taking surveys. But does Swagbucks really work, or is it just a waste of time?

Today I will be providing you with a complete breakdown of how Swagbucks works, and whether it is worth using or not!

Service: Swagbucks

Ease of use: 8/10

Honesty: 7/10

Realistic chance of making money: 6/10

Overall rating: 7/10

Firstly, what is Swagbucks?

Swagbucks is a free-to-join program that has paid over $150 million out to users for doing little jobs online. It was launched in 2008 and is still thriving today, but what is it that makes this site so attractive?

Simply put, it appears to be the chance to make easy money. It seems incredibly easy; you play a couple games, watch a few videos, fill in a couple forms and all of a sudden you have a nice little Amazon gift card. Swagbucks currency is referred to as SBs (literally, Swag Bucks)

Of course, it is much different in theory and practice.

The good news is that Swagbucks is definitely not a scam.

However, that doesn’t mean it is everything it is cut out to be- don’t fool yourself into thinking it works like a part-time job would (IT DOESN’T!). I would recommend giving it a go without investing too much time into it. If it works out for you, then great, but if it doesn’t you won’t have lost much. So does Swagbucks really work? Let’s find out.

Does Swagbucks really work? Signing up

Signing up to Swagbucks only takes a minute; it requires an email and password and you’re in, already earning 5SB once you confirm your email!

Once you finish signing up you will see a little screen giving you a quick walk through of how the site works, and a little bar showing your current progress and opportunities to earn.

As you scroll down you will see a few different ways of earning, and you’re free to choose whichever you want.

A great part of Swagbucks is that there is something for everyone; if you’re an online shopper you can earn SBs through shopping as usual, if you’re constantly on online games then you can earn SBs through using their games, and if you’re bored you can fill out surveys for cash rewards.

Alternatively, you could use Swagbucks’ internal search engine as your default one to earn as you search.

With something like Swagbucks, you are better off activating it and then carrying out your business as usual and letting the money accumulate rather than focusing directly on earning SBs over your day to day browsing.

Does Swagbucks really work? The Pros and Cons

There are a lot of pros to using Swagbucks, so I will only cover the most important.

No.1: It is easy

I mean there really isn’t much of an excuse not to sign up and give it a go, it should only take a few minutes at most. From there you can just carry on browsing the internet as usual and wait for opportunities to show up. For instance, you might decide later on to buy a book from Amazon. Instead of going straight to Amazon, try going to Swagbucks first.

That way you earn money from your Amazon purchase at no extra cost to you! It is literally that simple, so there isn’t much reason not to!

No.2: It works

Swagbucks is a genuine site and it does pay out, which is always a bonus!

There’s nothing worse than spending an hour on a survey site only to findout afterward that it is a complete scam. Fortunately, this isn’t something you have to worry about with Swagbucks.

It will take you a little while to reach the payout threshold though, so its best to just earn and not think about the cash out until you have enough.

No.3: The tasks are realistic

There are similar sites out there, but often the tasks that you need to complete to earn are just not realistic. Swagbucks tries to cater its tasks to your preferences, and as a result most of the tasks will appeal to you- such as online shopping for clothes. Of course, you will see some tasks that don’t interest you but the overall balance is very positive.

No.4: The site is easy to navigate

Credit where credit is due- Swagbucks has a very clean and usable layout- you won’t find yourself getting lost on the site. There is a lot going on visually, but all the important features are clearly labeled and can be navigated to without issue.

There would be nothing worse than racking up the SBs but not being able to find the page to redeem them on!

Of course, Swagbucks is far from perfect and so there are definitely a few points it could improve on.

No.1: The SB to cash system is confusing

It can be a little misleading to new users when they see that they have earned 100 SB and think they are suddenly rich, before then suddenly realizing that it only equates to £1 in real cash. On top of this, it isn’t actually clear what exactly SBs are worth since 1600 SBs are equal to £10 on paypal, but only 1360 SBs are needed for a £10 Amazon voucher.

That’s a huge difference of around 300 SBs for the same cash value.

How’s your head?

No.2: The rewards can feel insufficient

Sure, they add up, but when you spend 30 minutes answering a survey only to receive a measly 50SBs you can feel a bit cheated (those figures being an estimate).

That’s why I advise not to bother tracking exactly how many SBs you are earning, but just do your browsing as usual and before you know it you will have tallied up enough for a gift card.

Does Swagbucks really work? Final Thoughts

Swagbucks is a great online service for the fact that you can sign up for free, but don’t kid yourself into thinking that you will be earning enough to replace your job!
